What makes Body Control Pilates® different?

Body Control Pilates® is an internationally renowned teaching method of Pilates.  Body Control Pilates® offers a comprehensive programme of exercises adapted from the Joseph Pilates 'Classical Matwork' repertoire.  As Joseph Pilates method was performed by elite athletes, dancers and actresses who were peak fitness, the demanding exercises are not always an achievable for all.  

Body Control Pilates® takes a progressive approach to the original repertoire, breaking down exercises into a step by step approach and creating new exercises based upon Joseph Pilates principles to build clients' strength and flexibility.  The Body Control Pilates® method also teaches good biomechanics and improves posture whilst preparing the body to ultimately perform the 'full' mat, classical Pilates exercises.

Progressive Approach

Body Control Pilates method teaches good movement skills set-by-step, which will ultimately give you the strength and flexibility you need to perform the more advanced classical Pilates exercises.


Quality of Teaching

Body Control Pilates qualified teachers are taught not only the range of exercises, but also on how to teach them well and adapt exercises to suit individual clients.


Client Assessment

Before a session you will be asked to complete an enrolment form, where you can give details of any injuries or conditions so the teacher can ensure you exercise safely


Class Size

All Body Control Pilates classes are a maximum class size of 12, ensuring close supervision and support from your teacher


Code of Practice

Body Control Pilates teachers adhere to a Code of Practice that governs teaching standards and professional ethics.  All teachers hold valid insurance and CPR certificate.
